Chairman's Dinner with Ales Bialiatski

Please join us for a private Chairman’s Dinner with Ales Bialiatski, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and one of Belarus’s most courageous advocates for democracy and human rights. NED Chairman Peter Roskam will host this conversation.

In advance of a special America 250 edition of NED’s Democracy Awards, this intimate gathering will offer a rare opportunity to hear directly from Ales about his decades-long struggle for freedom in Belarus. Drawing on his own experience—including repeated imprisonment by the Lukashenka regime—Ales will reflect on the resilience of Belarusian civil society, the continuing struggle for a democratic Belarus, and what that experience tells us about the broader challenge facing democracy activists around the world.

Ales has devoted his life to defending political prisoners and advancing democratic change in Belarus. His leadership and personal sacrifice embody the courage and commitment to freedom that NED’s Democracy Awards seek to honor.

The dinner will bring together a small group of NED leaders, policymakers, supporters, and friends for a candid conversation with Ales and a chance to reflect on how we can stand with those continuing the struggle for freedom in Belarus and beyond.
